Pewter Romanesco Necklace
The Romanesco Collection was conceived whilst doing a competition at University called Pewter Live.
I had been looking at my fathers photos of fungi spores, which he had taken through his microscope, when I realised that some of the shapes reminded me of canellini beans. I went home to search in my kitchen hoping to find some. Unfortunately we had none but my organic veg box had just arrived and contained a Romanesco cauliflower. The beautifully shaped florets bowled me over so much that I decided to take the cauli into Uni and started experimenting with casting it in pewter. The necklace and the rest of the collection are the result of these experiments and earnt me a place in the Pewter Live final. |
