Table Lamp
Romano Table Lamp
Top - Bronze Lamp - Various shades of yellow orange and red Acrylic Base - Wood The Romano Lamp was inspired initially by sensuous curves and undulations of the beautifully long and twisting Romano peppers When looking at pictures I had taken of close up sections of the peppers I realised that the curves and undulations reminded me of the undulations of fields and landscape. This started me looking at different landscapes and in turn made me look at several Ordnance Survey maps (my husband and I very nearly have every map covering the UK!). The way the light shines on the peppers emphasises its contours and the maps gave me the idea to translate the pepper’s curves into map contours / layers. The stunning colours that are available in sheet acrylic made me choose to make my contoured pepper into a lamp as the light (a flexible strip of LED lights) would then glow and throw the different coloured light onto the surrounding walls and objects. |
